2013 Contract Meeting

On February 16, 2013, we will vote to accept or reject a contract proposal. To ensure the process goes smoothly and to ensure every vote is properly cast and counted, the following information is provided:

When: February 16, 2013
Where: Northeast High School Gym
3701 Trenton Rd. Clarksville, TN
Time: Doors open at 8am and close at 9am

The meeting will start at 9am with a discussion on the contract proposals. After the discussion there will be a vote to accept or reject the contract. After you vote to accept or reject the contract you should plan to stay to hear the outcome of the vote. If the contract is rejected, there will be a second vote on whether to strike or not to strike. If not enough votes are cast in favor of striking (must be 2/3 of those present), then the contract will be ratified by default.

Only active members of IAM Local 1296, who are in good standing, will be allowed into the meeting or to vote on the contract.

Members will be inside the Gym by 9am. It is very important that all members attend this meeting.

Members are reminded that smoking is not allowed on school property.

COBRA

Members have asked if they would have Insurance coverage should the contract be rejected by the membership?

Under Federal Law the company must offer all employees Insurance coverage under C.O.B.R.A. This law allows employees to continue Insurance coverage under the following guidelines:

Once an employee receives notice from the company of eligibility, they have 60 days to notify the company that they wish to continue coverage. Once notice is given, the employees has an additional 45 days to make payment. If medical services are used before payment is made to COBRA, you may have to pay out of pocket and be reimbursed.
